About Babak
Hazrati Guitars is run by Babak Hazrati – a professional performer, teacher, recording artist, and technician with over 15 years of professional experience.
He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays various styles of music and holds a music diploma from Vancouver Community College. He has been an active member of numerous local bands since 2002 including Duo Flamenco, Black Gold Victim, The Shadows, The John Scott Band, etc. and has experience both playing in and leading bands. He is also a studio player and records on location or in his own small home studio. He plays guitar and bass in a wide array of genres from Flamenco to Jazz to heavy metal.
Babak has been teaching guitar lessons at the Vancouver North Shore recreation centres and from home regularly since 2007. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and helping his students learn the joys of playing music.
Babak is also a highly skilled and experienced guitar and string instrument technician able to repair and modify almost anything you can throw at him. Much of his experience has come from working at Long & McQuade Musical Instruments store as their Vancouver Downtown and North Shore string instrument technician.
